The Magic of Dental Braces Monday, March 19, 2012

Also known as orthodontic braces, dental braces are used to straighten the teeth, and can also be used to improve the bite. A dental brace can also help to improving the overall dental health and can help to prevent dental problems from arising or progressing into more serious conditions.

Dental braces do their magic by applying continuous pressure and force on teeth; the force coming from a dental brace will gradually move the teeth towards the right direction, resulting in perfectly aligned teeth. This can occur in just 8 weeks sometimes.

Proper alignment of teeth through dental braces is important because it leads to better dental health. Teeth that are overlapping with each other are much harder to clean and take care of; the spaces where teeth overlap (which are not cleaned thoroughly) may contribute to the start of tooth decay and gum disease. An improper bite, which can be effectively dealt with using a dental brace, can lead to difficulties in chewing, jaw problems and or premature tooth enamel attrition..

There are many dental braces available at the moment in addition to the fixed ugly- Betty train tracks. The most popular removable braces  are Inman aligner, Invisalign and other clear aligners which start from as little as £250 for minor tooth misalignment corrections
